A Creative Valentine
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the pressure is probably on for those who have a significant other. Instead of going out for dinner what about getting a bit creative for your special person this year? This article is for the men or women who are clueless as to what to do for their special person.
There are two options:
A fancy meal at a nice restaurant
Make sure you have already scouted and booked the restaurant ahead of time. If you are in the San Diego, California area I suggest Extraordinary Desserts. That place is a dream come true for the girl with a mega sweettooth (like me ^_^ !). Plus the décor of the cakes are so extraordinary that your girl will be floating on her own bubbles with each bite of their awesome cake. Going out for dinner is good, but there’s something even better.
Dinner at home
You can have her come over and you guys will be “going out to dinner” – but in reality you’ll already have dinner ready and set at your place accented with candlelight* and mood music. Here’s the situation: you convince her that she should come over to your place so you guys can “go out to dinner.†When she gets to your place you don’t let her in, you just go out with her to your car. Halfway to your car, you can remember that you’ve “accidentally†left something in the house – a sweater, wallet, or something (NOT your keys) and you have her go get it so that she can be surprised
Depending on the condition and layout of your place, you can get very creative with the way she goes to find the already warm candlelit dinner that you have prepared for her. For example, you can lay down a path of silk rose petals that can be purchased from a craft store like Michael’s or Jo-Ann fabrics store. This would be the path she follows to find the lovely dinner. When she does find the pleasant surprise you can be near her with a bouquet of flowers and tell her, “I wanted to do something special for you. Happy Valentine’s Day.”
*Note: Most girls love candles/mood lighting – you’ll get mega bonus points if you do this on your own without her ever needing to drop hints in the relationship or even worse outright telling you that she’d want you to do something with candles or be romantic. Even the hardcore geek girl will eventually want flowers or candlelight. It shows that you care about her and it shows how thoughtful you are.
