Complement Her
This may be completely obvious to the average bloke, but geeks (like moi) who are rusty in the communication/social interaction departments should listen up.
If you already have a girlfriend, one way to keep her is to remind her often of how pretty she looks. Even if she is a geek girl, it is important to complement her on her appearance from time to time. In addition, pay close attention to her appearance and make note of any positive changes. For example, if she changed her hair to make it look prettier, you should say, “Oh honey, that looks fabulous!” - perhaps something less contrived and/or “Fabulous”… If she dressed up for a special event, you should definitely tell her how beautiful she looks in the outfit. These kind words show her that you are paying attention to her and also help her maintain a better overall self-image. As Jenn would put it, “It makes me a happy panda.”
